Texas Commie Pinko School List (non-football)

freeagent

Six-man pro
According to the UIL list, the following Texas high schools do not play FOOTBALL (6 or 11 man).

I suggest that TEA immediatly identify these schools as underperforming and should be under immediate and intense scrutiny for failure to provide a complete educational environment.

(Seriously, a couple of these do play football ... Fort Hancock and Grand Prairie Advantage are outlaw 6 man schools, and I think even Brock is going to start football and play in the 2014-2016 realignment period). A number of them are charter schools as well and I think there are a couple that are in their first or second year as a new school

One minor correction

Marathon doesn't have enough boys in school for a basketball team, mush less football. I think they would field a football team if they had a chance. They were once very proud of their football.

Tornillo still plays football (we played them the last few years). They could easily opt up like Anthony (who has around 200 in HS...Tornillo has 300+), but they don't. What's weird is they choose to play outlaw football.....which makes one wonder "Why?" They have a larger enrollment than Crane and Alpine.....they would be in that district (which includes Wall).....now that would be a trip. Did the UIL tell them to play outlaw football to keep them from making that rediculous district?

I think they would rather be in AA because the competition is a little easier on basketball........oh yeah.....their AD is the basketball coach. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Noticed you had Channing on your list. I pastored there back in the mid-70s. A friend told me they once played football, don't know if it was regular or on the crowded field. He said they had to trave so far to get beat so bad that they decided to drop football. Think that was probably back in the mid - late 50s.

I second coachjdjones on Marathon and would add Briscoe-Ft. Elliot as well. I think they would play football if they could field a team consistently.

Channing and Adrian used to play 6 man, along with Darrouzett, Kelton, Groom, and Booker back in the early 40's.

FE had a heck of a team about 10 years ago. They 45'd Silverton at half in the first round. Forgot how deep they went - but if I recall correctly, they only brought like 7-8 kids with them.

As a matter of fact, I think they were the team that beat a very highly regarded Whitharral team. Seems as though Brandon Hoskins got knocked out of that game.

I hate getting old. Memories start coming in faded out clips.

RJ, Are you next in line for the Prune juice?
I have a good 5 years left in me before I reach that unfortunate milestone.

This

Boys, all beer tastes good when someone else is buying it.
You've obviously never tried "Fat Tire".

Admittedly, some free beer tastes better than others. But all of them are free, and free beer is usually a good thing.
