I know I have heard Baird ISD is opting to move up to 2A next year despite their numbers being in the low 80's. Makes zero sense, especially since they can't compete in sixman, can't currently field a JV team and have to use 6th grade players in order to field their Junior High teams. Heard the growth is coming to these towns around the Abilene area but all reports show all will survive the number growth into 2030-2034

If Baird's football culture was stronger they might have a chance to compete on the 11-man football level but they don't and haven't ever had anything but a mediocre to average team across the years. Someone is leading those people astray or someone spiked the punch.
