TCAL

11-man fan
TCAL update; 11 teams playing sixman in TCAL. TCAL has somewhere around 40 schools total in other sports and several more considering joining in 2010.

As for now we have 4 regions made into three districts. The San Antonio district and Austin district are currently joined together with six teams total. With the addition of a few larger schools and two home school teams, TCAL is considering DI - DII classifications. This is something that must be done ASAP if it is going to happen. It is not too late in the game if you are considering joining TCAL.

Blessings!

Update: TCAL has decided to split into two divisions. Praise God!

Because of the growth TCAL is experiencing, we (TCAL) have decided to use the sixman power ranking to determine playoff / post season games. This will enable TCAL to take in teams as late as June. The June meeting will be the cut off date for new teams to join. District play is now irrelevant in determining who plays who in the playoffs until TCAL can accommodate the proper alignments for all of the TCAL districts. For the 2009 season, TCAL will take the top four teams from each division and determine a division champ. Below are the D1 and D2 schools/groups playing TCAL football. If your team is playing an independent schedule, please prayerfully consider joining the Texas Christian Athletic League. Thank you Granger for this awesome and most helpful web site!

Bill probably knows this, but San Angelo TLC Charter school (switching from Christian to charter for 2009-2010 school year) announced that they will be playing 11 man football this year.

Enrollment numbers have increased and as a charter school, they can play in UIL (after one year as an independent), so that's the direction they are going ... note posted under the main board.

OK, here is the list of TCAL six man teams. By the way, the meeting went exceptionally well and we have grown to 49 schools total. Several of those schools will be starting a six man program next year (2010). We anticipate a few more schools before school starts back up in September. That is why we have decided to extend our football registration until August 1st. Please write back or call me with any questions. Our web site will be revamped in July and have much more info than before. Last but not least, TCAL will have an All Star game on December 5th.

We hopefully will have 8 teams in each division by August 1st. If not, Praise God for the teams we do have!

Being new to 6-man and this forum, has anyone began forming a group like T-Cal for the Amarillo/Lubbock (Panhandle) area?

This would be a great thing for the private and home schools in this area. Any information would be appreciated.

Also, is there a good central location (site) where I might find information on the Iron Man 6-Man competition held in San Antonio in November?

Thanks!
