TAPPS 2013 Playoff brackets released

My only complaint ... why is it that District 4 & 5, the two largest districts in the Division II classification, have their champions playing in the second round? I'd have to check my math again (especially since each team has a team not playing this season), but close to HALF of the Division II teams are in those two districts.

We have a two-team district, where I understand both are expected to be placed in the playoffs, and my call would have been to have their champion play another district in the second round.

It seems every year when we have five districts the decision is to have Dist 1/Dist 2 play in the second round one year and Dist 4/Dist 5 play in the second round the other year. Dist 3 never seems to get into that mix; and on top of that, Dist 3 happens to be the two-team district in 2013!

Otherwise, I can live with them ...

5 Points - UIL D1 schools
4 Points - UIL D2 schools, TAPPS D1 schools
3 Points - TAPPS D2 schools, TCAL/TCAF D1 schools
2 Points - TCAL/TCAF D2 schools and unaffiliated schools

No points for wins over any JV level team.

Was brought to my attention that last year, Dist 3 and Dist 1 champions played in the second round.

Thanks for the info on the Wild Card Points. Any news on when the realignment will be posted? We're very interested over here where we end up (Carrollton Christian).

I think I am correct in this. Last year we played El Paso Jesus Chapel in the second round. That would have been the District 4 runner up vs District 1 champ. So either I am missing something or district 3 champ and district 1 champ did not play in the second round.
