Congrats. You have scored an elite coach. Valley, if what I heard was true, you people just made a massive mistake.

Don't know what happened at Valley for the best sixman coach to leave your school, YES I AGREE, Someone to be there for 15 years and he just leaves for a school/team that is NO-WHERE like Valley.

On the other hand, I do believe 2 things will happen.

1 - Bret Tyler will make INSTANT winners out of Sterling City

2 - Valley, with Bret Tyler establishing years of winning ways and the town of Valley knowing how to win and THEY ALL KNOW WHAT IT TAKES (HARD WORK) they won't suffer.
They will have to go out and land a coach that really understands the game.

I'd have a list: AND YES I KNOW IT'S ILLEGAL for a school to contact coaches (I KNOW THAT'S NEVER BEEN DONE)

I would say Sterling City have been winners.. Been to the playoffs 5 years in a row now.

Yes they have, but since they came back to 6 man in 2008, they have beat Garden City only twice, losing to them 7 times. These two towns are long time rivals and historically, SC has beat GC many more times than they have lost to them.

Sterling City was 29-6 as a program last season. The JV did not complete a game due to the mercy rule. JH won district as well. There is a very talented group coming up. Bret Tyler will put them over the top and will be very successful there.

I'm going to go on record and say Sterling City will be VERY GOOD. If you've never seen a Valley team play under Bret Tyler, you have no idea how good Sterling City is going to be.

I've seen Bret Tyler take MANY under-talented Valley teams deep into the playoffs.

He is by far the best 6-man coach out there, Sterling City will be VERY GOOD YEAR 1 and beyond.


We can all get on here and say THAT ONE coach gets the 110% most out of his kids every practice & game.
If you've ever seen a Valley team play (under Bret Tyler) then you know HIS TEAMS are always competitive and will play HARD all 4 qtrs.

Sterling City will be REAL GOOD guys.................

As a community member of Sterling City, I would like to thank Coach Thompson. Although the future is bright, there is a reason why it shines the way it does. Coach Thompson has transformed and shaped our young men into athletic specimens. The cupboard is not bare by any means, actually brimming with untapped potential, and will continue to grow into a power as long as the passion and fire set by Coach Thompson is not relinquished. You guys are about to go to a LEVEL with Coach Tyler that will be way beyond that of Coach Thompson.
Your Admin/School Board made possibly the best hire in your schools history.
He is a darn good coach and he'll have those kids playing at an ALL TIME HIGH level.

Of course no disrespect to Coach Thompson.
