I know we always say “if only D1and D2 could play to see who is best of the best”. I also know it will most likely never happen. But for fun let’s see if this makes sense. So each game at Jerry’s World has an allotted time slot. Ya get where I’m going? If Gordon plays first that leaves half of that allotted time just sitting there. So move up the next game. I think Jayton seals the deal by half or early 3rd. So in essence there’s still an allotted time for another game. Why not have them play in that slot? I’m betting the kids would go for it. Fans are already there. The time is available. Why not? lol. I know I know it’ll never happen. But it’s Christmas time miracles can happen.

Jayton wouldn’t make it past the half vs Gordon unless Gordon allowed it. There really is that big of a gap between Gordon and every other 6man team in the state/nation/world. 4 years ago you could see just how dominate that group was going to be and they’ve 100% met those expectations,

Gordon reminds me of the 2004-2007 RS teams with T. Ethridge.
They (like RS) have lots of talent and would win state even without the Reed kid. Just like RS would have won state without Ethridge. Just think about that. Without their best kid/the best 6 man olayer in Texas….they still win.

I was pretty surprised last year at the Gordon vs. Abbott game that it went the full distance. Actually had a $20 bet with my uncle that Gordon would 45 them. However that Abbott team was VERY good (they absolutely win state last year if not for gordon) and Gordon showed mercy at the very end, they could have tacked on one more score and ended it but they kneeled out instead.

Two coaches found guilty by UIL is proof enough for me. I haven’t seen any other schools get popped twice for same reasons. You take take offense by getting teased about that but not by the actions of the coaches says all I need to know.

Getting back to State game topic. I think we all know Gordon will three peat. So my question is for everyone. Going back in time name a team that possibly could hang with these guys. I’ll go first 2013-2014 Crowell.

I don’t think there has ever been a team that could, and there likely never will. My vote is year’s Abbott team if they maybe did something different strategically. I also admit i have no idea what that strategy would need to be.

Whoever it was, they would have to be able to match or even surpass Gordon’s speed while also being just as consistent as them. 2002 Calvert
