Scheduling Games

I'm seeing a lot of posts looking for games for 2026. Isn't this a violation of UIL rules? I see that this is in the rules:
A school may be disqualified from district honors for up to two years in that sport for contracting games prior to finalizing the reclassification and realignment by all UIL appeal committees. Athletic schedules will not be considered official until approved by the superintendent of the member school district.

I could certainly be wrong, but my understanding is that schools that are "scheduling" 2026 games are doing so only tentatively and aren't actually finalizing, or agreeing by contract, to anything.

That makes sense, but it still seems a little premature since schools don't even know for sure what district they will be in and in some cases, even what division.

You're guaranteed a few non district games, cant hurt to get a jump on scheduling. Especially if you're a school that teams dont want to schedule. I'd do anything I could to make sure we have 10 games.
