RS vs Mt. Calm.

What are your thoughts about this game.

Richland Springs is way too strong for Mt. Calm.
However I was surprised that both teams were much closer than expected at the half of their games this week. Is it possible that several teams might have been guilty of looking beyond the first round opponent:
Richland Springs 38 vs Oglesby 21 @ Halftime. Final 64-35
Mt Calm vs High Island at Halftime. Final 102-56
Borden County & Anton scoreless after 1. Final 69-44
Throckmorton 8 vs Harold 2 @ end of 1. Final 48-2
Chillicothe 0 vs Forestburg 8 @ end of 1. Final 58-41
& 4 upsets this week.

For this game I say Richland Springs by 45 at the half.

I can tell you this, Oglesby has a very good team...

I've been lucky to see both these teams. RS has tradition and experience on their side. I keep seeing people say RS is to big and too strong; but I really think MC will be the bigger, stronger team. Have you not seen #33 from MC? He's got to be one of the best players in the state. #25 from RS is no joke either. I think both offenses will have success and will boil down to which defense can get the most stops. I'm saying 66-60. Doesn't matter to me which team you say has 66 or 60, because I think this could be the game of the year.

After listening to RS-Oglesby I kinda wonder about that 45'n Mt. Calm by the half. It was RS 1st full game of the year. It may have woke them up.
Then again Mt. Calm put up 102 pts on a 5-5 team that had their district game vs Calvert called at 32-0 for injuries in the 2nd quarter. Forfeited their game to Prairie Lea due to injuries from the Calvert game. Then 45'd Buckholts to get in. And they did put up 56 pts on 10-1 Mt. Calm. That's resilience on the part of High Island.
Could be a good game.

Yup. High Island put up 48 point in the first half against a Mount Calm team that had never even wore a jersey to a playoff game, much less play in one. They choked in the first half. Second half was the Mount Calm our are became used to and they outscored High Island 48-6 in the second half. If the nerves are gone, there could be a need for POPCORN and Frito Pies; cause this could be exciting.

I wish I could make the game. I think this game will boil down to who wants it the most and defense.
