Today (after a little snag that set the site in an error state for a bit) I've installed an update that adds to our existing fan polls, and creates a separate area for the coaches poll. This will show the voting results from coaches in their own divisions. I thought it might be interesting to see how the coaches perspective differs from the general public's perspective on which teams are the top teams in the state. Hopefully we'll get enough coaches from all divisions participating so we can see what they think.
Here are a few ways in which the coaches polls differ from the fan polls:
Here are a few ways in which the coaches polls differ from the fan polls:
- Each coach's votes only count for the coaches poll in their own division.
- Coaches must have their account here on the site associated with their team. Coaches, if you're not sure if you're associated, or to get your account associated, please DM me.
- The results will only display when 10% of the coaches in each division have voted. So, for example, there are 78 teams in UIL DI. That means we'd need at least 7.8, rounded up to 8, coaches from that division to vote in order to display the results. Also, for smaller divisions, there is always a minimum of two coaches required to vote in any division to display the results.
- The coaches polls don't show the "other teams receiving votes" block.
