MVP of division II

Just to give us something different to talk about. Has anyone seen a player this year in division II that you would consider an MVP (if we ever gave that award away, I'm not sure). All players are up for discussion, it doesn't matter who they play for or what their teams record is, this is just for fun!

I would like to help you out, but I haven't seen that many TAPPS games this year. In Private schools the best freshman that I have seen is the running back from Hightpoint. I read somewhere that his father is a coach in Kansas, I don't know if they were talking about KU or just in the state of Kansas.

I have never been to an all star game at the end of the year, do the super players stand out there? Other then that, you have to go with the best player from the best team at the end of the year.
There are a lot of talented kids that just don't have the supporting cast they need, If they play a weak team they go wild on the numbers, they play a strong team and get zip.

Astro 55 his father is an assistant coach at Kansas state. Playing him last year took slot of film session to see what we can do to stop him. This year I haven't heard or seen anyone stop him, plus he is a good Christian kid who loves to play the game. Good luck to highpoint! And the MVP of d-2 Aaron from Tyler street. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't he hold the record of the 400 meter of TAPPS d-2 track? Plus he played with christway last year who beat brenham for state and now he is with Tyler street who have a shot to win state there.

Yes i agree with you cowboy.. My former teammate aaron whitacker! He was a very good player and a very good QB for us last year at christway! He has improved and has gotten even better! goodluck to you bro you and Jd show them boys how we did it at CWA

No he doesn't have the record in the 400... are we asking about the best athlete in tapps or the best football player when we say mvp??

i've got two on my mind... call me biased

Matt Akin... he's about 5 9, runs a 4.6 on grass, benches over 225 (was his max about 2 months ago)... runs like adrienne peterson (his favorite running back)... great defensive end as well... makes plays all over the field... been a great player for us for years now but this year he is really showing his full potential... as far as basketball and track, he leads the basketball team in scoring every year and was part of the second place 4x100 relay and placed 3rd in the 400 in track...

Caleb Tate.. all state 1st team offense and defense last year and either second team or honorable mention special teams... i don't remember... anyway 5 8, 4.5 on grass, benches over 300 (again maxed 2 months ago)... hardest hitter in tapps... no questions asked... defenses have to scheme against him...4th place in the shotput in track, i think fourth or fifth in long jump, part of the 2nd place 4x100 team, 1st place 4x200 team, ran a 10.9 at the regional track meet and got second by 4 or 7 hundreths of a second to trey boldin in the 100 meter dash...ran 11.4... trey graduated..

so pick your sport and i can argue they are top contenders in any of them..

Yeah caleb ran a good 100.. for a minute there i didnt know who won the 100 it was real close i think trey ran a 11.38 and caleb ran a 11.45 idk i cant remember but i know those two were neck and neck!

top three players in this division though in my eyes

1. Roy Dawson- Brenham
2. Aaron whitacker- Tyler street
3. Caleb Tate- Seguin

cowboy there is no d2 of track, everybody is all together, you will just see some schools go up to 2A bball and track, like covenant, jesus chapel, greenville and some others. But no to answer your question, Whitaker does not hold the record, it belongs to some kid from happy hill in 1995, and last year at state he got i believe 5th or 6th. But regardless he was a heck of a qb and an even better LB for CWA last year. He could be the MVP if tyler street makes it.
