Last night.

Yea I just heard! apparently they had a starter out as well (I think grades??). Second team put about 30 points on the board before the game (which ended at half) ended. Props for beating them last year Dvill. What an accomplishment

O wow missing a starter for grades? That might come to haunt them against seguin if one of there starters are out

I'm kinda hoping that they get deciminated by the Quantum Physics and Differential Calculus tests in the next two weeks.

At Lifegate, we have a real tough spelling test and a review of addition tables coming up, so we're holding our breath ... I do remember a couple years ago, we had a kid ineligible for failing BIBLE class ... at a Christian school he attended since kindergarten. Of course, not turning in papers might have had something to do with it.

Good rule, no pass, no play. Kids are there to learn and get an education, football is extracurricular...
Course the argument could be made that athletics keeps some kids in school that would not otherwise be interested in attending.

I talked to a public school coach about that "dont pass , dont play' rule, he said when it was a six week suspend, if you were in the 4th or 5th week of the season, some of the kids would just drop out of school because the penalty took them to the end of the season and they wouldn't be playing anymore.

I was at the game. Believers did a good job keeping a positive attitude. Great first season to the believers players and coaches. Brenham was 1-9 four years ago.
As for you-

Actually I think the boys are okay with the calc and physics, the thing that will hammer them is the cold fusion lab, pass or fail.

Im not sure , should ask Lifegate but TAPPS lets each school or Dist. make up their own no pass np play rules.I have heard that some schools will change the standard depending on the game and the player.Sit a player out earlyer where he can play in the next big game. During Semester exams if a player fails he must wait 3 weeks those weeks well be taken doing Christmas break, there fore maybe they only get to play in 2 BBall games in the break. Then some Private schools or on the quarter system , how long is the punishment then?

The TAPPS rule is that you can fail no more than one of your core courses (I call it the "one free flunk" rule), however, schools may set rules stricter than the TAPPS rule. But you can't "pick and choose" and publish a "no pass no play" rule and then give Fast Fullback Freddy an exception because he got a 39 in Math on his report card just before the big game.

The punishment is based on whatever the school's grading period (6 or 9 weeks; there may be some provision for a failing grade at a mid-period report, but I'm not going to look it up right now).

I think the rule is that you have a 2 week sit out period in which you can bring your grade up to passing; if it is not yet to passing, you have to sit out 1 or 2 week increments until you're up to snuff.
