It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood......

Family a farm group from the Sudan, Tx area. All my Aunts and Grandma used to set in a circle shelling peas, passing around the garret snuff and brown mule chewing tobacco. I spent a summer or 2 hoeing cotton and truck farming. I just missed hand picking cotton due to automation. Hurrah! Names like Amzaar, Velma Lee. What a great memory. I apoligize for forgetting to add a warm blanket to my recliner and stuff.

You evidentally did not have a really tight fisted ol' Grandpa like mine on both sides. They would see all the cotton left lying on the ground after the stripper went through a field and would round up all available grandkids, nephews and nieces, and any of their friends with in grabbing distance, ahdn them one of those nasty old canvas bags with the shoulder strap and put us to work gathering every last stray boll.

This went on until 1971 when one died and the other one quit it.

My mom picked cotton by hand as a kid in the late 30's before my grandad got on with the railroad. They moved from East Texas to West Texas during the depression looking for work. She did not have fond memories of it.

Mr 5111 that was a beautiful song. I had to listen to it all the way through watching those little ducks get brave enough to go in the water. Oh they were so sweet. You did great at nice today. I loved it.

Mr Leemac thank goodness for automation. Next time remember you fuzzy wuzzy blanket so you'll be all comfy. I loved your Aunts names. Sitting in that circle just gossiping about their old men I bet. Chewing their snuff. I bet it was a happy day for them.

Mr Olebearkat my grandmother made us do worse things than picken up cotten. She would invite us for a walk and I asked her where are we going? She told me to pick up sheep pills. I got all excited about it. She gave me, my sister and brother a sack. Big one so we could get a lot of pills. I asked her what do the sheep pills look like and she led me over to a big pile of sheep poop. I guess the way I looked up at her made her laugh for a couple of minutes. Then she said grab that pile. Because of my respect for her. I picked all of it up gagging. She took all of our sheep pills and put them in her flower bed. She had the most beautiful flower bed that I've ever seen. So sweet men find some sheep pills for your wives flower bed and they too will be beautiful.

Mr Olderelk that is the most beautiful song in the world. What a Wonderful World. I see you have really made so headway at Nice. I'm so proud of you. You jumped to the head of the class with a couple others. Oh that song is playing in my head now with the little ducky song.

Mr Topher we need to talk. There isn't any nice in the little O. He only cares about himself and doesn't want like the song said It's a Wonderful World. Go back to the drawing board and read what a Wonderful World this is and compare. You know I love you too. So I will make every effort to help you along in this area.

Mr 5111 I feel so bad for your grandmother, seriously. She was homesick and really loved the cotton. Living through the depression was hard too with grandpa working with the railroad. I hope she got use to it and found other things to make her happy. I can't imagine living through those times. She is a special woman.

I want to commend all of you about how nice all of you have been. Only one problem. Mr Westexas you have to have heart for Mr Topher. Everyone is different and an example for me at being nice when someone likes the O, I listen politely, then run to the ladies room and throw up. See that makes them feel right at home and they never think were being unkind. All of you are so nice and I really love each one of you. Your really making efforts on nice. It makes the day so sunny and bright. Except it's was raining here but I can imagine the sun. Lets keep Mr Smokeys nice thread booming then when we get to the end which I pray it never happens, we will be the nicest people in this falling down world. We won't be thinking the worse of things. We will find ways to be happy. I hope you fellows enjoy your teams, or the teams your wanting to see win. Let their win be happy happy happy and for the team that nearly won, feel their pain and congratulate them anyway. Cause we all know this is not a win win win world at all. Sometimes we lose. Keep the nice coming. All of you are truly an elite group of men.

Everyone loves me on here, even westexasflats. Being the only Canadian on the board, I'm like the mascot. The mascot who grows insanely hot chilli peppers and then distributes them lovingly to anyone who is willing to try them and video themselves trying them.

Mr Smokey you are very special to me also. Thank you sweet guy for starting this thread. You are a so much fun. I love you Mr Smokey.

Mr Topher I know Mr Westexas likes you. Your our Canadian sweet guy. He was just pulling your leg. Your so much welcome here to the nice thread.

Guess I'm gonna have to wait until the scores get posted. I don't have any of the radio stations. My fault but I don't go on every ones district to find out. I was watching Ransom with Mel Gibson crying over the little kidnapped boy named Shawn. My husband is remote grabber and he changed the channel. I wasn't so nice I held onto the remote until he told me if Shawn lived. Then I thought about Nice and handed it over. Now he's watching so College Football. Who does that when there's sixman games going on. I'm confused. Is this just a man thing.

A lesson in being nice and giving him the remote. He changed the channel back to Ransom. I cried and cried when Mel G went onto the balcony thinking he had killed his boy and his sweet wife went out to console him even though she was a basket case. They hugged and cried so hard. Then the maniac had to go to plan B because his threats weren't working. He shoots all of his people in crime then goes into Shawns room acting like he saved him. Then they get Shawn back and Shawn sees the manic and lets his dad know thats the man. Short story the manic gets shot and dies and the family lives happily the rest of their lives( that's my assumption).

I hope everyone had a wonderful Friday and Saturday watching games. Grangers board is an amazing place to meet all of you. It was a bit cold but humans are unhappy if it's too hot or too cold. I for one need to appreciate God's seasons. Tomorrow I pray each one spends some time with God whether it be at church or alone at home. Which we should Praise Him Everyday. My new friends I wish all the best weekend ever. I love all of you through Jesus Christ our Lord.
