Congrats to both teams in a hard fought battle in one of those games that really could have gone either way.
As we’ve come to expect by Strawn they again played good fundamental football. Were it not for a few costly turnovers and a few (at least two) missed extra points the outcome would have been in their favor.
Iredell also played solidly but just some points of interest that they need to improve on.
1. Iredell on side kicks after every touch down (they may need to examine that decision), but to my point on at least 4 times the ball never even traveled 15 yards so they didn’t even give themselves a chance at recovery. They need to improve on that.
2). Play smarter ball. Iredell received several on side kicks from Strawn where they would have been better off letting the ball travel out of bounds and get those penalty yards.
Over all a good game and again congrats for both teams. And if Iredell can get a W next week they will have made a deeper play off run than any Iredell teams.
Side Note….Iredell has a team made up of only 1 Sr so they should make a deep run next season as well regardless of how this ones ends.
