It was the most forgettable matchup of the day. I got there at the half and really didn't watch much as was busy visiting and eating. CowboyP pretty well summed it up. I will say I originally thought that this would be one of the better games of the day.
donharden was right when he said, (paraphrasing) " You never know how good a sixman game is gonna be until it's over."

I was there. Here are some of the updates I sent to Andy.
7:16 in 1st 8-6 Strawn
Halftime 32-14 Strawn
9:48 in 4th 45-14 Strawn
4:26 in 4th 53-14 Strawn
Calvert 3rd & 16 on own 28 they fumble
Strawn recovers on Calvert 16
Final 59-14 Strawn 1:25 left in 4th
Strawn's #9 is a beast. Hard playing, hard hitting, & probably doesn't weigh 120lbs.

Is that better?

One of the 3 Beurmen boys on the team. In 09 listed at 90 lbs, last year at 110. Still growin. Kinda remidnds me of Daniel Juarez from a couple of years ago. I think he did get up to 5' 7", 170 lbs. Like Coach said, when DJ's on the field you know somebody's gonna get hit. As a Strawn fan I thought the game was great. After graduating the state offensive mvp (DII) in particular I kind of wondered what kind of team we'd have. Being underdawgs by I think 7-20+ points depending on who you believe it was purty cool. We scored, they score in 1-2 plays, We score, they score in 1-2 plays. Could be a shootout.
32-14 at the 1/2 is not a huge lead in 6M. Calvert is usually pretty explosive. They drove on us at least 2-3 times in the 2nd 1/2 but got fumbleitis.

Oddly enough, I and my wife had the opportunity to speak with Coach Lee after the game. He never mentioned a single player. The proud owner of two state rings must be under the misconceived notion that the Strawn victory was a team effort..

I don't read where any poster is trying to give credit for the win to any one player. A specific ayers name/stats were mentioned and the fact that he has heart(as does every kid on this Strawn team).
the only misconceived notion on here was the pre-season ranking of the Strawn Greyhound(S).

Strawn looked, as expected, well coached with players in position to make plays. I think is was #7 and #40 (big fullback?) that Calvert just seemed to get tired of tackling. Calvert doesn't seem to have the explosive player(s) they normally have. Strawn had no trouble matching speeds.
