Strawn beat Richland Springs in the Semi 56 to 54 to go on to state where they beat Fort Davis with a score of 67 to 62
In 2008 Gordon beat Strawn with a score of 60 to 30 for the district championship.
Strawn came back in the Quarter Final to meet Gordon again that year and the first time ever in the playoffs where Strawn won with a score of 89 to 58. Strawn players, my son included, make me aware of the fact the Gordon won by 30 but Strawn won the second one by 31.
Strawn went on to defeat Follett with a score of 58 to 29.
The year that Gordon went 1-9 if you remember right they still influenced the playoffs by winning their last game. I believe the cost Rising Star the playoffs. If I am not mistake, correct me if I am, the RS team was coached by Coach Mallory who went to coach at Gordon the following year.
