Gordon Vs. May - History

So far, the only time I can find that May and Gordon played in a game with immediate playoff implications, was 1984, when May had already beaten Newcastle, then Newcastle beat Gordon... and Gordon had to beat May to cause a 3 way tie. That year May was 12-1 and lost in the State Final to Jayton.... Newcastle was 11-2... losing a second game to May in the semifinal... and Gordon was 6-4 losing to Star and Abbott Before District. Star lost in Bi-Dist and Abbott lost in the Quarters.

If any one can determine another time when these two classic powerhouse teams met with playoff implications.. let me know please!

BTW.. I was a kid on the sidelines during the 84 game trying to be water boy :)

I played in that 1984 May vs Gordon game...it was a hard hitting game...at the end of of the season some of us was talking to Coach about the best games of the season...Gordon was in top three not because of the final score but because the way they fought all the way to the end...that tradition seems to be alive today....should be another great game between the two teams....
