No question there are many games each week that jump out at ya as great games. With just a quick glance at each week’s full class schedule these are some games that have already caught my eye. No doubt there will be more as the season progresses.
Week 1 – Follett, TX @ Moscow, KS: Texas vs Kansas, it’s been decades since there was a showdown between these two states.
Week 2 – Blackwell @ Highland: The Nolan County Battle of the Hornets; the Green vs Blue game!
Week 3 – Happy @ Valley: A Panhandle pairing that has got hotter this season with former Happy HC Tye Keith now the at HC at Valley
Week 4 – Strawn v Borden County @ Jayton: 2017 State Champions square off…who could ask for a better matchup! If you aint in Jayton for this game you
don’t love six-man football!
Week 5 – Milford @ Strawn: This was a crazy matchup last season in the playoffs and both are highly ranked in their divisions this season!
Week 6 – Guthrie @ Benjamin: Both teams rumored to be playing with just six players! If they can both hold out till week 6 it will be a TRUE 6-MAN IRON MAN game.
Week 7 – Jonesboro @ Iredell: A battle between two highly ranked teams out east, one is DI the other DII.
Week 8 – Anton @ Amherst: Anton new to DII will battle with Amherst who has been a panhandle playoff mainstay. District 3 big game.
Week 9 – Bronte @ Robert Lee: Longhorns vs Steers…the old district rivalry is renewed! The Coke County Showdown!
Week 10 – Milford @ Coolidge: Battle of district and state juggernauts in the East!
Week 11 – Abbott @ Aquilla: One of the best rivalries in Texas High School football…and it will have playoff implications in the final week!
