Earthquakes

Boyd and Azle had an Earthquake today. I don't know if it's because they're using water tanks where they're drilling or an act of God. We are having more and more Earthquakes all the time in Texas. I don't know whether to be afraid of nature or if this is one of the signs of the Lord.

Those are just subsidence earthquakes. A very common oil patch occurence. Very common in West Texas and usually only noticed by seismographs. Here in Illinois we get earthquakes caused by the land still rebounding from the last ice age that ended ~12,000 years ago. This part of the world was under more than a mile of ice back then that pushed it down. Down there, as oil/gas is withdrawn from underground, the rock eventually collapses.

There's a lot of drilling going on around here too. In fact we have two sights close to the Trinity River. I've never felt anything around here or our walls crack and I want it to stay that way.
