Don Hardin Bowl

Does anyone have any predictions?
I live in Bosque county and have only seen a few of the kids play. I am always excited to see private, I love watching kids from Dallas Covenant. Of the pulic school represented I have only seen Throckmorton and May play this year. I am looking forward to seeing the kid from Waco Methodist, I heard he can throw it a country mile.
I am hoping for an exciting game and hope the coaches dont get in the way too much
Cant wait for Saturday

Six Dallas Covenant boys and my HC along with the other private school men, I'm predicting the first private school win in the Don Hardin bowl. Pound it, pound it and then see what happens after that. Sorry I can't be on the sideline to see these boys compete. Make us proud and go out on top.

Public: May’s David Woods and Justin Howard, Richland Springs’ Ty Mann, Santa Anna’s David Valencia, Jared Cotton and Tyler Goodwin of Ira, Nathan Riley, Bryson Oliver and Trinity Haggard of Throckmorton, Austin Odom and Juan Bustos of Garden City, Cade Latham and Kellen Kirkland of Water Valley, Will Howard of Robert Lee, Seth Wheeler of Gordon and Canan Wood of Anton.

Private: Dallas Covenant’s Colby Boozer, William Simmons, Mac Sellers, Tyler Doshier, Clark Martin and Jacob Hickerson, Abilene Christian’s Rueben Byrd and Samai Massaquoi, Boerne Geneva’s Devin Standerfer and Preston Standerfer, Methodist Children’s Home’s Stanley Dunbar, New Braunfels Christian’s Trevor Wilson, Summit Christian Academy’s Grayson Richey, Allen Academy’s John Brien, Lifegate Christian’s Joshua Dodson and Round Rock Christian’s Joshua Jacks.

The Private school team is actually two teams...a team within a team. The six Covenant kids are hot and salty. I scouted Valley v. Covenant this year and was impressed with their two defensive lineman, however, not sure if they are seniors. They also had a smart and well executed passing attack. Another note... it was abundantly clear they had high quality coaching. It will be interesting to see how the Dallas six are used. I would be tempted to play them as a unit.

Across the LOS, the Public roster is more familiar to me and looks strong across the lineup. The Throckmorton, Ira, Garden City and Water Valley boys are all capable of taking over a game, especially Oliver, Haggard and Kirkland. I'm sure Goodwin can too, being a coach's son.

This game will boil down to coaching decisions, and simple defense. Who is coaching the Privates?

By the way, where is the Crowell stud and the Grandfalls' kids?? That would have been exciting: the Dallas Six vs. the Grandfalls Six.

This is how I would like it to go; Field goal at the buzzer, public by 4...........

You forgot the Rain......

Ill go with the Private by 4.

This is sort of off topic, but I see the phrase "bump" a lot on this site, can someone please explain to me what that means.

It should be a great game. I'm sorry I can't be there this weekend (lots and lots of things going on, one of which is preparing for my wife and son to take a 26 day mission trip to Russia) ... best wishes to all my friends who are there coaching, attending Jerry's clinic, and playing, including Lifegate senior Josh Dodson.

Have fun and be safe and healthy.

Knowing the folks on both sides of the ball, both are going to play to win!

I got a look at the private school boys last night at the basketball game. They are BIG and really loose. Not a bit uptight. Can defenses stunt? Are is that reserved for the second half? It will be hard for the publics to stand up to that size mano-e-mano without the occasional stunt. On the other hand the public kids have the speed and quickness. It will be interesting, but usually speed will win out in sixman.

What was the scores of last nights games?
Does anyone know if there is any broadcasting or streaming of the game tonight?
