Coaches,
I have been following the information and data trails regarding sports concussions lately and thought I would post what I came across.
The latest study I found is on concussions related to neck strength.
I will be placing greater emphasis on neck strengthening for our boys in the off-season and I encourage everyone to take a look at the article from the link. It is a good read.
I am also factoring this study in regarding the weight of our helmets.
A striking claim from the study is, "overall neck strength remained a statistically significant predictor of concussion. For every one pound increase in neck strength, odds of concussion fell by 5%."
