center in NZ

Is it a NZ infraction when the center is over the ball ready to snap and he is positioned so that his head is completely over the ball and even a bit past the ball? It looks as if he has the ball directly under his chest at the snap and not out in front of his body like you see 99.9% of centers do. Just curious as to what the written rule is so that I may alert the refs if indeed this is a violation.

Keep in mind his hands are in the NZ when he is touching the ball. But with that said, the rule states that no part of his body may be beyond the NZ.

Foul, probably, do you want to have a game with 5 or 6 flags before the first possession? Had the same deal in a j v game last week, team with no talent, no chance, no way it was an advantage. Was not worth rubbing their nose in the mud. Some times you need to have some common sense and do what's right.

Agree. Not all players have arms long enough avoid this.
