Calvert vs Jonesboro

I would love to hear from an official also because considering the 4th down call not being measured just declared a turnover.....??

Unless a measurement is requested by the coach, this is a judgment call by the referee (white hat).

Thank you, young zebra.....My son explained the same thing to me earlier. The foul was committed by a player that did not block the ball. I am satisfied and retract any other insinuations I may have made.

I will have to disagree on that. From where I sat, it sure looked like he tipped the ball with his left hand as he dove in. The ball was knocked over into the line and bounced backwards.

The officials sucked..calling on jonesboro roughing the kicker really..yall wrong..jonesboro deserved to win that game and you stupid officials who dont know how to be fair instead of one sided karmas coming to get you...I saw so much unfairness by the officials that it has many talking and its not good. people that was listening to the game and watching it on the internet could not believe it. word is spreading along ways about that game and the ones who seen it...are not happy..Thanks Officials for robbing those boys who worked day and night to get where they r..i hope you can live with your contience...Jonesboro Eagles you will always be the winners and champions of that game..and i know many across Texas and else where would agree..Seeings that game was live.
Now its time to say watch out Calvert.. Richland Springs is coming to get you...

I would like to know what happened the other 80 plays that were ran that night to see if there was any other reason Jonesboro lost.

I would also like to point out that Jonesboro was lining up offsides in the first series (specifically a player's helmet was over the line). Instead of throwing a flag, the official spoke to the coaches who in turn got the players attention before the next play. I consider that good officiating.

As for the PAT, the kid coming in from the side absolutely crushes the holder. I have seen the video. The block I believe came from the inside.

To say the officiating was one-sided is wrong. Yes, they missed some calls, but on both sides. I also know of twice when the FB moved prior to the snap for Jonesboro that it wasn't called (in the third). It also seems they got the PAT call correct. They also eventually got the 4th down call fixed (after Jonesboro rightfully demanded a measurement). So the two biggest travesties against Jonesboro were either corrected or actually right (if the block comes from the inside)...

I don't know the total play count, but I can say Jonesboro dominated the first 36 minutes of the ball game. If I'm correct Calvert was down 26-12 with a little under 4 minutes remaining. KOR by #9 was clutch in my opinion. Momentum switched to Calvert. Jonesboro had opportunities to put the game out of reach, but several illegal procedure penalties, plus a late hit out of bounce really hurt the Eagles. Like I stated earlier both teams suffered at the hands of the officials. You hate to see officials huddle after every flag. One can say they were trying to make sure they had the correct call or one can assume the opposite. Bottom line, questionable calls on both sides. Calvert made the plays down the stretch, and they get the opportunity to move forward. Hoping for a Trojans victory against those Coyotes.

Officiating is one of the variables that cannot be figured into the equation. Like Forest Gump's Box of Chocolates, you never know what your going to get. You can eliminate the obvious, but still, stuff happens. You get what you get and there is nothing you can do about it. You take it and go on. Most officials are honest and do their best.

And, by the way, the illegal procedures were Jonesboro's big downfall. And correctly called.

They had two in the third that were not called...

My last post on this topic.

Jonesboro came out and took it to Calvert. I switched back and forth between sidelines and there was great respect for the opponent from both sides. For the first 3+ quarters Jonesboro just looked like they were playing a different game than Calvert. They could run the ball much better and seemed to have better footing through the muddy parts of the field (on offense and defense). When they needed to pass (on those fourth downs), they did it very well. Calvert didn't look comfortable on the field. Their passing game was weak and they couldn't handle the spread rush Jonesboro had... slowly Calvert got themselves back into the game and adjusted to the circumstances. They played a miraculous final 4 minutes.

As far as the hitting the kid out of bounds i was right there also. he did not even touch the kid. I saw just as much as you did since i was running the chains. Also the interception in over time the kid had hands out but ball laid on the ground under him not saying he didnr catch it but was aided by the ground.
