Guess my questions are different. My list is pretty simple.
1. Administrative Support
2. Academic expectations for athletes
3. Teaching Schedule
Everything else is negotiable during an interview, as long as there's an effort to benefit both sides. Salary is the #1 thing everyone worries about; on both sides. There is a fine line between over-paying and being taken advantage of. It's not just a matter of being fair, but what message are you sending the new coach about your expectations for his success? You never want to hear a school board member say "Well, we got what we paid for", if it's in a negative connotation. As a coach, you just have to decide where that fine line falls. I don't even know the average salary for a 6-man coach, but know I was compensated in additional years on my contract to help make that number look better. Something to think about, because for me, having multiple years, not to have to worry about job security was a blessing, much more than an additional $5K (although I would take that $5K if offered - LOL).
