Best in TCAL

Our QB is fine. Should be back next week or week 10 at the latest. We want to be careful we don't rush his return. Our backup QB has done a great job and we have made adjustments to fit his style of play. Our injured QB is impressive! He is 13 and scared of nothing. #1 passing stats in TCAL. Thanks for asking!

As far as DII, it's hard to say right now. District one will determine how many teams will advance from District 3. We will either play District 4 #1 or #2 depending on our final two games. We are not taking anything for granted. One week at a time and stay healthy is our goal right now. I love this game!

Blessings!

I agree that live oak has had a cake walk schedule, but If they beat Azle in Azle I think that's proving that they're gonna be tough to beat.
Are the semis played at a neutral sight or at the higher seeds home?

So as long as we stay ranked in the top 8 or in front of district 3 teams then district 1 would take three teams? Am I correct in thinking this?

Coach Bill, who is West Columbia's game changer that did not play in the Feast game at the beginning of the year? Ellis would be my pick for their game changer. He is a very good player who made all-state last year. He did play in the game.

I stand corrected! I was told Ellis did not play. Not sure what happened! I had WC winning that game by 14. Again, FEAST is young but well coached. This week will be big for the rankings! Underdogs need to step it up! THATS US!

I have insight on why TRIBE lost in overtime! I like the word insight instead of excuses! Against Tomball, we lost our star QB (also our #2 Kicker) in the first quarter. Against San Marcos, we lost our #2 QB in the second quarter. Both games we had a two touchdown lead when our players went down. We are very happy that we were able to keep it together for the most part. Special teams has hurt us along with injuries. When you only have 13 boys and 4 starters are on the sideline...work hard and overcome! PTL our kicker (our #1 Kicker) will be back this week. He has been out for some time and we have missed our kicking game. The good news is my boys are very rezealiant and determined to be State Champs. We know that it will not be easy but are confident that we can reach our goal!

i had mentioned the sequin lifegate game, not tomball or san marcos. the lifegate tribe game was 68 19 with lifegate coming out on top. that game was just won because lifegate is one of the most dominant teams in all of sixman football this year, uil, tapps, tcal, and tcaf. i dont see anyone playing any better against sequin this year

Ellis did play in the game early in the season against FEAST. An FEAST still won. I also don't understand how they had -3.02 points before saturday night when they were 114 point underdogs to PTC, and they end up 45'ing them. and now they have -23.02 points? how does that make them drop in the rankings?

Ok people there are only 4 teams D1 and 4 teams D2 left so our odds of picking the best in TCAL are better. Everyone pick a team. 1 from D1 and 1 from D2. Mine are:
D1 Waco Live Oak
D2 San Marcos Homeschool

Best of luck to all!!!

We played West Columbia early in the year. They has some kids that can go. I'm sure when they play Waco Live Oak in the semi-final it will be a great game. If it turns into a track meet I give West Columbia the edge. The winner of this game will most likely be the Division I champion.

the playoffs continue to be confusing. Is the term "sand bagging" usable. Tomball beaten by Baytown, Waco Live oak beaten by West Columbia? It appears that some teams may have played players in certain games to get into the playoffs then used different players in the playoffs. Always confusing how a team can look so average in the regular season then turn it on in the playoffs, i guess certain players just step it up in big games?? Congrats to all the winners! TCAL finals could be a West Cloumbia / SA FEAST rematch. Interesting

I wondered who you were talking about as far as "sand bagging." I assume it wasn't West Columbia since they have won every game since opening with 2 close losses to Houston Emery-Weiner and FEAST. I saw the FEAST - West Columbia game and have been in shock that these two teams were ranked so low. How does West Columbia go from 162 to 41 during a 10 game winning streak?
And these ratings nearly had West Columbia and FEAST playing in the first playoff game.
Big Foote11Jim - Did you see the West Columbia - Live Oak game tonight?

I would appreciate someone that was able to attend the semi-final game to provide us with a recap of the Waco Live Oak - Tomball game. The score makes it sound like a very exciting game. Please share the details. Thanks

Mark-

Look at MaxPreps.com and see their rankings. Click on your team and see the header. Proceed to: MaxPreps.com > Football Home >TX FootballDivision > TCAL I State > Division Rankings. Or click "Rankings" and go from there.

I think it's a lot more accurate. If MaxPreps.com is the "official" stats-recording system of T-CAL, and they rate the teams better, it should be a no-brainer decision for next year.
