I just wanted to thank all the wonderful people at Fellowship for welcoming me to their school this year. When I came to Fellowship Academy, I really didn't know what the season was going to produce. We had a VERY young team and needed a lot of fundamental training. The young men that I met were all great athletes in the making and I knew we could at the very least improve over the previous season's record.
I lifted them up daily to our Lord and prayed that he would show up everytime we stepped on the field. Although we are not always faithful, He always is. There have been so many great memories produced this year. Above all, the memories of our boys leading daily devotions and of our starting freshman playing above their size and grade come to mind.
We are so blessed to not only win district the way we did, but also make it to the second round of the playoffs. Although a loss always stings, it showed our young men the level they need to be at next year if they wish to move to the level of the champions playing this week.
My hat off to Coach Keen and the great talent he has on his team. His game plan was spot on and he had his boys ready to take it to that ellusive "next level."
May God bless all the teams remaining. This is the first time in four years when I will be able to spend the Thanksgiving break with my family uninterupted. Although I will enjoy it beyond description, I hope this is the only year I'll do it for a while.
Thank you again to Pastor Oldenburgh, Mrs. Collier, Mrs. Collins, Coach Peters, Coach Johnson, and everyone else that participated in all the good things God blessed us with this year. Thank you for putting up with me and for giving all you had to these boys. Let's breathe a little, play some of those other sports and then start gearing up for another great season next year. Who knows what we can accomplish during offseason. We'll find out on August 14th.
In His Service,
