Alternative Mascot

Goob

Six-man fan
Yew knowd, I wuz athinkin' that like teams done got them alternative uniforms why not have alternative mascots. Fer instance, my friends over at Sterling City cud have an alternative mascot. They cud done be the Sterling City Marlins after that NASCAR feller Sterling Marlin. Then on their logo they cud put either a little car or even one of them big ole fish yew can done catch out of the ocean. That there iz reel flexible.

Maybe Loop's could be the highway number of one of the loops around Houston or Dallas. The logo could be a car with an angry driver flipping you the bird.

The long horns could use an image of a saxophone on their helmet's.
Richland Springs could use Wylie Coyote chasing a roadrunner. Every time they score their horn could toot Beep-Beep.

How about Sterling City changing their mascot for 1 game to the Roadrunners. The coyote could never catch the roadrunner in the cartoon.
As a matter of fact, the coyote's encounters with the roadrunner never turned out well for him.

Blame this all on Goob and boredom, and whatever's on the TV my wife is watching. After a couple of towns popped into my head I went to the alphabetical list on LSF. Not to step on any toes here...
the Abbott Costello's, Borden County Milkmen, Buena Vista Longview's, Coolige Calvin's, Cotton Center Wevils, Eden Apples, Gold Burg Gold Diggers, Groom Brides, Hart Surgeon's, Hedly Lamar's, High Island Rostifarian's, Klondike Miners, Loop Lasso's, Lorenzo Llamas, Marfa Lights, McLean Fatboy's (I know, not politically correct), MilFord Chevy's, Mt Calm Dynamite, Mullin Mullets, New Home Wanderers, NorthSide Rebels (NPC), Oakwood Lumberjacks, Paint Creek/Rock Painters, Penelope Cruzers, Rankin #1's, Rising tar Stars, Ropes Headers (or Heelers), Sands (of) Timers, Southland Yankee's, Union Hill Rebels (NPC), Valley Mountaineer's, Veribest Top Hand's, Walnut Springs Lug Nuts, West Brook Trout's, White Deer Antelope's, Wilson Football's, Woodson Cedar Hackers (NPC).
Some are natural. Cherokee Indians, Happy Cowboys, Panther Creek Panthers, White Deer Bucks

From articles in the 1938 Big Spring Herald, Klondike's original mascot was the Gold Diggers........

they should without a doubt go back to this!
Coincidentally, Tumbleweed Smith's article in today's Gatesville Messenger is entitled:
Klondike ISD: Small, Wholesome.

They claim to have the best concession stand in the state, bar none.
Sounds like a great place.
To get back on subject the article states, "During an annual bike race from
Midland to Lubbock, riders stop in Klondike and get Klondike bars."
So the "Klondike Bars".

You aren't talking sixman here, but since you brought up the Armadillos, I heard about them going out and recruiting a big power running back to save them from the cellar this year, but, even with him being their leading rusher, they are still bottom feeders.

I don't know if it's the best concession stand in the state, but it's a damn good one.

You two are trying to get me in trouble by trying to get me to make a smart alek comment about gold diggers in the Klondike area.

I don't know if they were recruited but they came from Richland Springs..........

So the San Saba Dillos lures (recruits) a player away from Richland Springs (little piddly old 6man school) and he is there leading rusher. WOW!

Just think. He might coulda' almost guaranteed RS 8th Championship if he can do that in 11 man.

I don't know this for a fact, but I would be willing to wager that there are a whole passel of 11-man starters that would be JV or bench warmers at Richland Springs.
