While reading a history of high school athletics in my hometown of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, I stumbled upon the fact that when football was first played in the town, it was six man ball!

The principal of Sudbury High at the time was Joe Costigan. I taught with his grandson years ago and will contact him to see if I can find out any more information.
Very interesting to see that six man reached a mining town in northern Canada in the late 30s!
