2026 Early favorites

So since the coaching carousel has started let’s go ahead and jump into the way way way too early favorites for 2026. According to state game broadcast Rankin returns a good group including #2. He’s a good one for sure. Can’t just blow off Jayton and Gordon just because they graduate such great athletes. Remember it was the underclassman that practiced against those great athletes every day. They learned leadership, discipline and commitment. So they have that going for them. So let’s hear it who yall think goes to AT&T.

Well it's actually refreshing for once to not know who will win it all before the season begins. I know Sands was young and a very talented team. And like you said, you can't count out the perennial power teams that seem to always have great athletes.

Excited that things should be wide open in both divisions.
Rankin was young and should contend. I wonder how much Union Hill lost. Aquila maybe makes a run as their super sophomore is a year older. Oglesby would be my pick in DII, but they are moving to DI. Their sophomore class is large with quite a few great athletes, including their stud, Goff. They also have another great freshman moving up. May and Water Valley were senior heavy this year?

May is definitely Sr heavy. But they do have some good talent in the underclassman kids.

Don't count Union Hill out. They lost some good kids but they have some good kids coming back.

Motley co is going to be a tough team in their region. They have some good players coming back. Expect Culley Lawrence to have his best season yet at RB1. Motley co is replacing a lot but Coach Bigham will have the team ready. Motley co never rebuilds but always reloads
