Wow, five days before 2-a-days, and they're just now putting the turf down?

Also, weird they are using astro-turf....I thought that stuff wasn't used anymore.

AstroTurf (the company) is still around. The original stuff (AstroTurf 12) is now used only for field hockey (and/or dual purpose field hockey/girl's lacrosse fields). Their football field turf looks just like FieldTurf or any other turf company.

Back on topic...

I have a list of 25 schools that are what I call "on the bubble", as far as enrollment goes, to be in the realm of the six-man football talk. That's using what enrollment number Dave Campbell's magazine has, which may not be the best snap shot enrollment. I have schools that are listed as 108 and lower playing 11-man...of those 25 schools 12 are over 100

this leaves out schools that may have a larger snapshot but could still be truly on the bubble...like Van Horn who has 136 listed in the magazine but many have told me they may be able to play six-man in the near future...note...Iraan is listed as 109.5...

I do have Wink on the list but they are growing so their number, 102, is not a true reflection of the next few years...I am sure I have a few others that are the same.

Just about the entire 1A-DII District 7 (5 out of the 8) and District 16 (5 out of 6) could play six-man

Booker played Six-Man football from 1939-59, in 1960-63 they played 8-man (or at least listed as being a part of a district...if they played is another question as many schools in the 40s didn't play a few years)

Also...I have never found a score to confirm this but I do remember reading in some of the stuff I have that Booker back in the day would play six-man games with teams from Kansas

I just posted this as a comment on the Amarillo articles' page (I used the info in Dave Campbell's magazine):

I think it would be important to note that Booker has had 2 very good seasons thanks mainly to the play of Hunter Lile. 2011 saw Booker win their first playoff game since 1962...and that was an 8-man playoff win! Before the arrival of Lile as a star player...for the 12 year period from 1999-2010 Booker has a 35-76 record and from 2006-2010 had a 10-40 overall record and 0-23 record in district play...so what will happen once Lile graduates???

And Booker played six-man football from 1939-59, eight-man from 1960-63
