Week 8 Schedule

I'm new to this so there's probably a reason I don't know, but why are so many week 8 games on Thursday night, and also so many teams with a "bye"?

Most of the UIL districts are four teams and play district schedules weeks 9-10-11. Lots of coaches like to have a bye before district play plus it's easier to find a fill-in game in case of a cancellation earlier in the season.

As for Thursday games, well, I guess there may be a lot of County Fairs this weekend?
