May vs. Calvert
(Calvert wins this one)

Jayton Gridiron Classic has:
Knox City vs. Borden County.............Borden County in a thriller
Crowell vs. Abilene Christian..............Crowell wins here
Ira vs. Valley................ I think IRA will have a little too much for Valley in this one.

Hico has:
Aquilla vs. Happy........... Happy takes this one in a VERY high scoring affair
Blum vs. Water Valley....... Blum shows the WEST just how good they will be in 2014


Any other games of interest during week 1....

No one wants to see (other than moms and dads) bad teams such as Jehova Baptist Crucible vs. Akorn ISD who were both 0-10 the previous year(s).....

I'll go with Abbott in a good one and Orange Community starts their march to the title game with a thrashing of coolidge.

That would boil down to Salinas vs Flores and of course RS has two that are a Salinas, Rochelle only has one Flores. The odds kinda tip toward RS.

Lots happen in orange CCS, rumors r flying in Orange after last week starting QB for 4A power house WOS transferred to Houston Spring. A local Radio and TV station r looking into rumors that Dave Campbell's 4A COVER BOY D Thomas (Committed to Alabama) and J shaw ( committed to Texas) are transferring to play 6 man football for CCS. I have not been able to confirm this yet ......BUT IF THIS TRUE WOW!!! CCS will be a power house.

Interested in these match ups at the Allen Academy Kickoff Classic:
Oakwood is a very strong UIL team vs. Baytown Christian which returns all but one player from last year's squad.
The defending TAPPS Div. I champs Dallas Covenant vs. one the top TCAL Div. I teams in Allen Academy.
Austin Hill Country which has been a mainstay in the TAPPS playoffs vs. UIL Division I power Abbott.

Also these contest in the Emery Kickoff Classic should be interesting as well.
In a rematch in last year's TAPPS Div. I Semi-Final Boerne Geneva vs. Sugar Land Logos Prep.
And, two teams that are looking to make moves in new districts this year UIL Div. II High Island vs. first year TAPPS Div. I Emery on their home field.

Should be some really good games worth the price of admission.
