Kerrville is going to send Boerne home 45ed

Kraemer ... I'll take a little of that Lifegate loses to CASA by 40 action. I think Coach Rabon and the boys can cover that spread... possibly win it as well. Just gonna depend on how healthy we are Friday.

Might even grab a little action on Kerrville 45'ing Geneva. In both cases, it won't be betting, it'll be investing. Although the market stinks on ice, too ...

Lifegate,

Not to ruffle anyones' feathers, but I happened to see Lifegates 2 scrimmages.

This team is not as good as last years team. The spread back is the real deal, but this falcon team is NO-WHERE close to last years team.

I feel lifegate falcons will have a tough time with the CASA spread back.
You guys had trouble with living stones 2 weeks ago with their spread back and EVERYONE WILL HAVE TROUBLE vs. BRACKEN..... but the living stones spread back was thin and very shifty.

the overall defensive speed on lifegate is no-where near the speed it was last year...

that's why I'm saying CASA wins (maybe not by 40).... But I have been known to be wrong on SEVERAL OCCASSIONS

You are right in that we aren't last year's team. Also have some kids hurt, but we ain't gonna be running over 12 teams on the way to the Brenham Buzz-saw. I saw both of those scrimmages, too. I think Alvin is better than most think ... with Brenham losing most of their starters (12 seniors), I could see Alvin POSSIBLY contending for that district title.

We did play CASA at our six-on-six and had some trouble with their spreadback, but we also dropped a lot of passes (and CASA got beat by a team everyone else at the six-on-six beat because they dropped a lot of open passes, too). I think Lifegate goes something like 7-4 or 8-3 on their schedule this year. And I have CASA penciled as a W for Lifegate. But then, I don't coach and my post-game play calling usually is perfect.

But I thought I was wrong once. I was mistaken, though ...

I am kinda hurt you didn't stop by and say hi while you were in town, though ...

I am going to have to agree with Kramer.
Seguin's main offense last year was Tate and Akin. I have been around looking at team's scrimmages and I dont see the same offense power and speed that seguin had last year. CASA has a real good offense on what I have seen and their defense has improved from last year's struggling season. I.m going to have to go with CASA on a 20-40 win.

I'm not favoring any teams but just trying to be realistic. It will be a good game to from the stands.

Goodluck to both teams.

Kramer. Excellent picking this week. We want to see your picks for next week too.

I dunno. I think ol'Kramer outta keep his day job and not get into this swami stuff:

Boerne Geneva loses to Kerrville OLH by 15 ... lost by 4; okay, I'll say he's close on that
Fredericksburg Heritage loses to Dallas Covenant by 12 ... lost by 31; ditto
SA River City puts the smack down on SA The Atonement by 33 ... Atonment wins by 55; that's a miss
SA Town East beats Lewisville Temple by 28 ... Town East wins by 48; another good pick
SA Castle Hills gets hammered by SA Winston by 45 ... Castle Hills wins the score fest by 4; oops, pal
Seguin Lifegate loses to CASA by 40 ... Lifegate wins by 4 (actually up by 18 going into the last minute); get some Windex for that crystal ball

Picked district teams to lose by a total of 122 points. Actually, they won the games by a total of 76 points, so that's 198 points off. But then, anyone who tries to cover spreads in sixman, much less private school sixman, should have their head examined by a medical professional. Often.

wow afan & lifegate,

I was just having fun with this. Didn't mean to pick against your school or to even ruffle your feathers...
But I will make my week 1 picks on Sunday Night...

So please tune in on AM-1659.5 from 2AM-2:03AM... LOL

I know, buddy.

But I didn't want some guy patting you on the back leading you into a bad career decision ...

Great call on the Wichita Falls Christian vs Wichita Falls Christ Academy game. The Stars 45'd the Warriors just before the end of the 3rd quarter. Good thing too. Christ Academy doesn't have lights, so even with a 6 pm start time, we would have had to turn our car headlights on to see the field. Props to Christ Academy's kids though, for hanging in there. We were afraid that they wouldn't have enough players and have to forfeit their season like Byers did.

On offense, 5 different players got in the scoring. Drew Cannedy, a freshman, caught his first varsity TD pass from junior Brent Holsberry, a 3rd year starting QB. Holsberry also connected on a deep pass, placing it perfectly over the defender, to sophomore Josiah Perry, who ran up the sidelines for another Stars TD. Hunter Wolf, a junior, ran for 3 touchdowns and nearly 100 yards. The offensive star of the night was sophomore Ryan Ivy, who scored three long touchdown runs, compiling 120 rushing yards. The Stars defense shined just as brightly as the offense, holding the Warriors to 8 of 25 passing for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. One of the INT's was a coast to coast pick six by senior Zach Perry. The Stars also held the Warriors to only 17 yards on 6 rushing attempts.

This week we travel to Lubbock Kingdom Prep, hot off their upset of Lubbock Christ the King. It should be a very interesting match!
