My father: David Charles Marbut was a captain on the first Covington Owls team in 1965 (since 1921) under legendery coach Henry Strauch. He served two tours in the US Navy aboard the ship USS Ogden in Vietnam. My son now wears the same number 50 as a freshman on the Covington Owls Team. Ironically, I played for the Owls also, but it was the Joshua Owls 4A. Thanks to all the veterans for their service.
