I’ve watched plenty of Gordon games, and I think there are a few different factors that compound on each other to make them pretty much unbeatable.
There’s the talent, which is obvious and what makes all the other things i’m going to list possible. #2 and #3 are hard to tackle in the open field. One guy stands probably a 20% chance of bringing them down one on one. More likely he will either be made to miss entirely or he will be trampled/drug until he get passed by. You need at least two guys to reliably tackle either of them.
The play calling is great and often overlooked.
They score in 1-3 plays most drives, this leads to very few opportunities for penalties, fumbles, interceptions, dropped snaps. The other team on the contrary, while its not impossible to move the ball, must run 10-15 plays at least to get close to the goal line. This is so many opportunities for mistakes that they are bound to happen, and you can bet Gordon stays ready to capitalize on these mistakes.
This also wears teams down incredibly fast while Gordon stays relatively fresh, which is compounded by the fact that the second string defense is no pushover. They can hold their own and let the starters rest even more while they get experience.
Most of the starters are fast as hell. I estimate Ry Reed’s 40 yard dash at 4.3-4.4 (based on his performance in the 100m dash), which is NFL speed. Stryker is also extremely fast. The rest of the team is as fast as most team’s studs. Speed dominates in 6 man.
All that said, there are 10 seniors on the roster. I do not think they win state next year.
