Trout Fishing in Texas

I was amazed by a tpwd link I found recently. I heard about them stocking trout below the dam at Possum Kingdom a few years ago in the winter, then about below Canyon dam on the Guadalupe. But I never knew I could do that in Austin, Levelland , Midland or El Paso. Dalhart, Marathon, Big Spring, Abilene, Midland / Odessa, Ft. Worth (3?), but not Dallas? I like fly fishing in Colorado on vacation although I'm not truly a fly fisherman. I use a spinning reel with a clear float and leader to the fly. Even a small fish hitting a fly is fun. Tried the Rio Grande without much luck though the lakes were better. Then you can resort to salmon eggs, worms or dough and a bobber. Some of the tenderest meat you will ever eat.
Crane and in sixman country at Caprock Canyons outside Turkey / Valley?
Did I mention Amarillo and Abilene?
Bass fishing may is a high dollar sport for some. So is trout fishing for some. I find it fun and relaxing.

I wanted to stock some trout in some spring fed fish tanks that we have but the "experts" at TPWD told me it would've too hot for them here in the summer. Been thinking about building an artificial trout stream if I can figure out a way to recirculate the water and keep the slippery little rascals confined to the area I want.

They would die in 100 degree heated water. I guess they keep the ponds where they raise the fry at Pk and other places cooled? 8" - 10" at best on most I've read. Edible. I don't catch and release unless smaller.
