Seven Points Texas...The Locals from Seven Points say the town name was "Seven Pints" at one time,Cedar Creek Lake filled up in the 60's and the city people had them to change the name??? Now that is what i heard?

BABY HEAD, TEXAS. Baby Head is on State Highway 16 near Babyhead Mountain, ten miles north of Llano in north central Llano County. A post office was established there in 1879 with Shelby Walling as postmaster; the post office was closed in 1918. Baby Head was at one time the site of an election and justice court precinct and supported several small businesses and a school. By 1968 it was a rural community of twenty people marked only by a cemetery. In 1990 the population was still twenty.

Trickham TX was originally supposed to be Trick em because of the way store owners would raise prices when the cattle drives came through. At least that's the local legend. Apparently the name was assumed misspelled and was corrected.

Leaday was named for two men who had both been married to a woman who helped found the community. Tom Lea died and she married William Day. After he died she ran the Day Ranch in south Coleman county. I grew up on the Day Ranch. The site where Leaday stood is now under Lake Ivie. The only thing remaining is the Baptist church which was moved to a hill overlooking the lake. I still have my bumper sticker which says Stacy Dam Leaday Lake in protest of it's construction. Of course I live in West Texas which benefits from the water. Story has it that both town signs ended up in the same family. :wink:
