Tioga AD/Head Football position

Somewhere I once heard/read/was told that Tioga would be playing sixman for only a few years before their enrollment moved them up to crowded field.

Might be worth asking at an interview. Nothing wrong with that, but if you're HFC/AD, my guess is you'd better have a plan in place for the transition.

With a pop. 700 more or less,
you really think they'll go 11m
in a few years?
Did they just build a HS?
They only played up to 9th gr.
last yr.
Haven't found the field yet.
Please tell me it's not that
big crop circle north of town!

Plus,
they have 4 coaches already.
You sure they have an opening?

elementary, is suppose to have 35-40 kids in each grade (this is what I was told). So it looks like they would be 6 man for 2 maybe 3 years then go 11 man.

Well Doggie, we know that anybody who is anybody will know about here. But everybody will not, there is a few that will only know about there. Besides, they could be looking for a combination coach. Someone willing to coach sixman now and crowded field later. Will they be looking at a JV schedule only?

Tioga just added 9th grade this year. Will add the other HS grades one at a time each year. It is my understanding that the elementary classes are large. The kids have just been going to other k-12 schools in the area after 8th.

They do have a home field. It is located in same 1-2 block area as school. Its not Allen, but we have played on worse surfaces. Seem to have good fan support. Very excitable announcer.

Follow in the steps of Savoy and hire a seasoned six-man coach
Oneday, our coaches will appreciate that you thought that they were seasoned, but only in crowded field games. They took a crash course in the game and learned as the season went along. My thanks go to all the other six-man coaches that helped them. It is further testament to the six-man game.

Our JV played Tioga twice and they improved as year went along. I am sure that alot of the the boys played 11 man at districts they went before opening their HS. They do have good fan support.

sounds like dogface is applying??
For someone who would love to dig in
and build something,
this might be a good gig.
A major portion of this job
will/should depend on the classroom assignment.
As usual
we need more info.

Tioga is about 60 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth. It is still country, but I think there stay in six-man will be four to five years. It's located between Pilot Point (428 in high school) and Collinsville (168 in high school). Freshman class only this year of about 20 kids.

The whole town is only 800 people.
Calvert has 1400 and still plays 6man.
I don't see how you guys
are getting these short 6man lifespans?

It depends upon how many developments outside Tioga city limits metromess developers will be building.

The growth up there is hard to comprehend. Just 20 years ago, Frisco was a 3a school, and now it has several 5a schools. Tioga looks like it is in the path of the growth, and it's right on a lake....which may make it attractive to those building developments. I see that school being 11man in two re-alignments, 2018.
