Pasadena First Baptist Christian Academy vs. Waco Vanguard is the 70th TAPPS six-man title game in the organization's history since 1990.
Waco Vanguard is the 53rd different team to ever play for a state title.
With the 16-12 halftime score, the fewest points for a winning team was 30 by Bryan Allen Academy in 1996.
But ... Samuel William's opening second half kickoff return for a touchdown makes it likely that'll get passed.

Pasadena First Baptist Christian Academy's 54-18 win is the Warriors' second straight TAPPS title.
The Warriors are now 2-1 all-time, losing in 2022.
First-time teams are now 22-31 in their first state championship appearance.
Only 14 other TAPPS title games have seen 72 points or fewer scored.

Next up will be second-year program Waco Valor Prep vs. Lake Jackson Brazosport Christian.
Both teams have never played in a TAPPS state title game, which will be the 54th and 55th different teams.

It will be the eighth time in TAPPS history that two new teams have met in the state title game.

Since both teams were first time participants, the overall record of first timers will move on to another year at 23-32.
It was only the 14th time - out of 71 state title games in six-man TAPPS - where the game ended early by the mercy rule.

Three in the 1990s. Two in the 2000s. 5 times in the 2010s. Fourth time in the 2020s.

Second six-man TAPPS champion out of Waco as Valor Prep joins Live Oak Classical School's titles in 2016, 2017 and 2021.
In 11-man, Waco Christian, Waco Parkview and Waco Reicher also all won titles between 1989 and 2009.

The last five Division I champions have now all come out of the Houston district: Emery/Weiner (2021, 2023), Logos Prep (2022) and Pasadena First Baptist Christian Academy (2024, 2025).
