State Games

I take that back. 1983 Cherokee had a big and very fast squad. Unfortunately early in the season they lost Kenny Alexander a very talented athlete to a car accident. Kenny and his teammate Robert Williams were absolutely dynamic. We would all know those two names had it not been for tge accident. Robert went to state in track in 2-3 solo events maybe 4 I can’t remember. Obviously the loss of Kenny hurt the team tremendously. No doubt they win state in 83 with Kenny. No doubt all.
I’m thinking that Robert still holds the record at the Heart of Texas relays back in 83. Watched him run that day and I thought Johnny Lam was on the track.

Gordon has been missing a few extra points per game of late, so if someone could go score-for-score with them, that’s just about the only weakness to exploit

We ran against each other at several track meets. He’d always say I’m tired today not gonna run hard. Then I swear I could hear him laugh a little as he passed me up the last 50-75 yards of the 200m. We still laugh about that. Still friends to this day.

Except you could argue that Gordon has 3 "TE" type players plus a more talented supporting cast. Those three that Gordon has are faster than TE was. Gordon would eat those RS teams alive. How many gold medalist sprinters are on this Gordon squad... 6-7? Not to mention the fastest player to ever play the game. Gordon is faster than any team in history but also extremely physical and just a well oiled machine.
Another young man for Gordon that gets overlooked , is Noah Kostiha.

Kinda quiet on here tonight. Calm before the storm???
Praying for safe travels for all that make the trip to support their teams. Prayers for the schools, the parents, the coaches, the cheerleaders, and of course the players. May they all walk out of the stadium as healthy as they walked in. Good luck and God Bless.
For the rest of us…. Just like the Dallas Cowboys motto…there’s always next year!
GO MAY GO
