I know we always say “if only D1and D2 could play to see who is best of the best”. I also know it will most likely never happen. But for fun let’s see if this makes sense. So each game at Jerry’s World has an allotted time slot. Ya get where I’m going? If Gordon plays first that leaves half of that allotted time just sitting there. So move up the next game. I think Jayton seals the deal by half or early 3rd. So in essence there’s still an allotted time for another game. Why not have them play in that slot? I’m betting the kids would go for it. Fans are already there. The time is available. Why not? lol. I know I know it’ll never happen. But it’s Christmas time miracles can happen.

I know. But at some point the UIL needs to wake up and realize we need true State Champs in every level. D1and D2 winners can be called exactly what they are for example D1 1A Champs but leave the title of State Champs to the winner between D1and D2. As for the UIL since they seem to be money motivated think of the revenue generated from one more game from top to bottom. Yes I know still a dead horse but at some point this will happen why not sooner than later.

What if instead of calling it 1A Div 1, 1A Div 2, etc, they just moved up the classifications and called it 1A-12A?? Would that satisfy you so that there was a true class winner?? What does it matter what it’s called? You are the state winner in your class, they are just labeling it as divisions. It’s words, man. Let these kids have their moment and call them what they are: true State Champs.

Lots of ways to better divide the 1A divisions than numbers. Counties with one school for instance. Schools in or near bigger towns. Schools where the natives residents barely ever play. Rich schools. Maybe there should be one Champion. Numbers are hardly the only measurable advantages some school have over others.

Admittedly i don't know much about jayton. I know they are good though. Probably good enough to beat anyone in division 1 except Gordon. The state game will tell. Richland springs got destroyed by gordon, though they did give them some hell at the beginning of the game.

Gordon by 45 early in the third. Could be sooner if Gordon doesn’t let under classmen play.
Jayton by 45 at the middle of the third. Could be sooner if RS turns the ball over. The state game for Jayton was last week when they played Benjamin.
IF Gordon and Jayton played you’d have to spot Jayton 40 points to make it interesting.

My name on this site says it all. Of course I’m going for May. Especially against the Cheetahs of RS. But that has no bearing on this game coming up. Jayton ends it by mercy rule.

Coach Reed has played 2 and 3 deep from the depth chart for the 2nd Q to the end all season for the past 3 years. That ain't gonna change if the starters dominant early play continues.
