This is just nuts. It really encourages fan participation/support of their team.

I will point out that if a fan base needs the game to be later in the day because they will not be fired up in the morning then they are a pretty pathetic fan base. When my favorite sixman team has played for state in the past we would have showed up at ANY hour of the day or night to support those players. Playing at Jerry's World is a plus for these kids in my opinion and the fans just need to deal.

You remember the big crowd for the double header semifinal games, Borden County and Crowell, Guthrie and Richland Springs? The first hand report that I received was that after Shotwell's expenses came out, each school received a check for a little over eleven dollars!

Johnny south , I think that was brought about because of UIL needing to pay off the Houston debt. I'm sure a lot of schools got screwed last year by them.

Yeah, lets play in Abilene instead of ATT Stadium, said not high school kid ever. State BB games start on Thursday every year. Only one day difference.

Exactly. If my team made the dance I'd take off early to get there, probably get a cheap motel and take a vacation day the next day. And I'm only 100 miles away. But the years are catching up. If it was a team I follow, and on a weekend I'd go (I've seen 5 of the last 12). But I wouldn't take time off during the week to do so. I understand that playing in Jerryworld is way cool for the kids. But getting to the dance is really the big deal no matter where it is played. Having all the family, friends and fans possible enhances the enjoyment of it all.
