Someone has to own up to this rankings mess.

Explain this:
TAPPS DIVISION II RANKINGS
1
Cedar Park Summit
10-3 304.49 10.85
2
Austin Veritas
13-0 304.24 11.63
3
Waco Live Oak
10-3 294.77 -1.76

This is the division that I know best as well. Kerrville and New Braunfels ahead of Castle Hills? I know ranking teams is hard, but this system ignores what happens on the field. I am trying to understand what the algorithm is trying to do, but it is not working.

I noticed where Castle Hills was ranked as well, which shows how flawed the ranking system is at least for this division. It seems like several of the Division III teams are even ranked higher than the top teams in Division II, even though Summit beat the State Champ in that division. There is not a perfect system, but, the way it is now it is so flawed that you can’t use it as a legitimate rating system. I suggest that you use a different system. They seem to have it right.

Summit, Castle Hills, Veritas and Common-Sense fans rejoice. Human error, not the algorithm was at fault. Ever diligent Granger caught the error and sanity is restored. The rankings now make sense.

I think it looks much closer to where it needs to be. Granger indicated that he went back two weeks and a corrected the files utilized. However, he also indicated that it might go back further than two weeks ago. The one thing that does not make sense to me is that Summit is ranked lower than San Marcos Hill Country Christian, although Summit beat them. San Marcos is even ranked higher than Veritas. It would still be interesting to see if the issue goes back further than two weeks.
