Small 2A Watch 2025

Crosbyton has had 6man numbers for awhile it seems. What's the old saying, "you can't fix stupid."
Crosbyton has a varsity and a junior varsity team this year. If they can continually field both a varsity and JV team there is no need for them to play 6man football. Ralls on the other hand needs to make the switch to six-man (in my opinion) and I believe they have less than 20 players. One problem for small towns is they believe the town will die if they play 6man football, or some believe it’s “not real football.”

Just because they have a JV doesn't really mean anything. They haven't been very good now for a long time now. And I agree about Ralls, they should play 6man. But so should Crosbyton. Thats just my opinion fwiw

Here’s what I have so far:

Munday 128
Sterling City 101
Hamlin 119
Crosbyton 84
Iraan 98
Ralls 104

Still need Cross Plains, Hull-Daisetta, Shamrock, D’Hanis, and any other 2A that turned in 1A numbers.

Thanks, I’m beginning to think that part of the reason for these schools staying is the 4 teams to the playoffs, win just enough and make the playoffs regardless of your record.
Exactly why 4 teams in the same district do not need to be going to the playoffs and exactly the reason I support an 8 man addition. We are literally living in the participation trophy era. Congrats on the ribbons 11man. Atleast we still have a champ and runner up go to the playoffs (granted 2 divisions now)
