Seguin Lifegate Clinic - Fri June 28th

Okay -- I'm going to work on the website (www.sixmanclinic.com) this week and have information out later this month on our Six Man Football Coaches Clinic at Seguin Lifegate Christian.

Here's the details:

Friday, June 28th -- registration at 8 am, Clinic from 9 am to 5 pm
I'll have the speakers list out sometime next week. It's gonna be a pretty good crew!

For those coming in the night before, we're going to have a get-together the night before (Thursday, June 27, around 6-9 pm) at the Wimberley Brewing Company (RM 12 & RM 32) between Wimberley and San Marcos. The joint is owned by San Marcos Home School coach Bruce Collie and his family; Bruce won a couple Super Bowl rings with the 49ers back awhile ago. I think we're gonna have tickets for something like $20 a head for a buffet, desert and non-alcholic drinks. Most of the speakers will probably be there and it'll be an informal chalk talk. Will have more information later on this.

Sponsors include: Alert Services, Riddell All-American, Jerry's Sporting Goods, and FCA San Antonio.

If you're looking for places to stay, I would suggest checking San Marcos and New Braunfels hotels. The best rate I've been able to get in Seguin at a place I'd let you stay is $123.25/night at the LaQuinta Hotel. We get a lot of overflow from the Eagle Ford oil workers around here and hotels are charging a king's ransom (this is the same place I got an $85 rate last year and $70 the year before).

Jim Rackley -- Converse Judson HS (Retired) ... folks, he may not be a sixman guy, but he's probably forgotten more about coaching than most of us will ever know....

Update: Cody Martin (Stephenville Faith/now Cedar Park Summit Christian) will be here in place of Lloyd Fields.
Kade Kittley has moved up to head coach at Miami HS and will still be here.

Last I checked, we have about 50 coaches registered for the Clinic. It's here at Seguin Lifegate Christian School on Friday, June 28th.

You still have until Saturday, June 8th to register at the reduced rate of $60 (four coaches for the price of 3) ... and hey, if you drop me a line and PROMISE that you put the check in the mail by that date, you might be able to slide by. After then, it's $70 (and $75 at the door, neither of which is a bad price... but not a bargain that you'd want to have).

Also, we're having a little get together at the Wimberley Brewing Co. on Thursday night, June 27 (RM 32 & FM 12, about 10 miles outside of San Marcos) with the speakers and guests. $20 a head ... the joint is owned by Bruce Collie and his family; Bruce coaches the San Marcos Home School team and played a little football for the 49ers a few years back. Oh, and I've been told that's his birthday as well ...
