Saint Jo @ Union Hill

I see this game has made it as one of Dave Campbell's Sixman Games of the Week.
What are others feelings on this game? I know we are getting better each week, but we have not faced an opponent like Union Hill. I think this one will be a lot closer than people expect. Go Panthers!!!

PHIMA, I figured I would post on your thread cause you aint getting no love.

I know a feller in Nocona that went to the ole Jo. I called him up and asked what he thought about this game and he said he has been following the ole Jo this year and they are ready to take it all the way. I dont know anything about neither teams this year but I am with you PHIMA, after talking with my buddy I am confident in the Panthers. Now my buddy Tank said they about to pour a barrel of it on the boys out east. Good luck to everyone this week.

Yall Stay Prickly!!!!!

Well GT I think you done pinned the tail on that there Panther with that pick! Neither one of these teams have played a tough schedule, they should be undefeated. St. Jo will knock Union Hill at the hill tomorrow night. I cant travel that far cause Teabags has come down testicular cancer so I have to stay at the hunting cabin with him. Our local Shaman said Teabags will be just fine though !

Just to be transparent, if you read the DCTF article, that was written by me (and you posted the prediction wrong). That's me the human. The other is the computer...

I read the article and I know you wrote it. I had the 24 pt spread right but accidentally put us as scoring 24. I edited it. I just posted the source of spread. I figured it would be confusing to some if I said Granger prediction, and then put sixmanfootball prediction. I get where you are coming from though. I appreciate your effort and all that you put into this site, and the DCTF stuff you do.

This is sad news about Teabags! SFA I will be praying for a speedy recovery. But will he go by Tea from now on? Spreads are for fun, until the lights are on.

My predictions for the big games:

Saint Jo- 58 Union Hill- 36

Blum- 62 Abbott- 24

Gordon- 48 Aspermont- 42

Stay Prickly!!!

I just wanted everyone to know because it's kind of like cheating in a way.. getting to make 2 picks

GT, thanks for the thoughts and prayers for Teabags. He is doing great today after his surgery. The local shaman did such a good job with the surgery we now call him Sweet T. I watched the surgery and even though I have never seen a guillotine used for that kind of surgery, it worked great! While Sweet T is resting today in our new (old) hunting cabin, he wanted to make the picks on the 3 games you picked. So here we go!

Saint Jo 61 Union Hill 30 (2 teams with weak schedules, panthers eat bulldogs in the circle of life...Sweet T is now listening to Elton John songs)

Abbott 51 Blum 27 (Blum is rebuilding but Abbott is on their way back to the top!)

Gordon 47 Aspermont 38 (Sweet T really likes the new country music video with Gordon in it, he knows nothing about either team so his pick was based off the video)

GT ya'll need to stop by when you around this part of the state!

I made the round trip. I guess I watched the game from the wrong side because the side I watched from was the unhappy side. Grainger was not real far off on point spread but defense on both sides cut the score back some. Saint Jo was tough but Union Hill was a little tougher.

Just got home from the 3+ hour drive from Union Hill. What a hard fought game. Union Hill is as advertised. I do hope we can meet up with them again on a neutral field. As I stated in original post, I knew it would be closer than most expected. Now we just have to go and take care of business in district play. Bryson will be a tough out @ Bryson.

I do appreciate all the feedback in the post. Got a good chuckle from some of the responses. Glad Sweet T is doing good and is on the mend. Good banter and game chatter is always fun.

Well papa, the UH defense apparently didn’t have many weaknesses tonight. Old folk home, I’m glad you made it out to the game but please give us some of your “expert opinions” on how they both look for us non East Texas folk!

SFA, I will be headed your way with a fresh Elton John mix tape for ole Sweet T. Tell The artist formerly known as Teabag congrats on going 2 for 3 on his pickems. I would take him to the casino if I were you. Tell him I will bring my warthog I just bought online.

Pretty well matched up teams. If Saint Jo doesn't fumble the first two possessions inside the -20 and let UH score on both. Its pretty much a barn burner. That was the difference in the game.

Sorry I am just getting back to ya GT! Sweet T got 2 out the 3 right! I was delayed on posting because we lost our 5G dialup some time this past weekend. We think our next door neighbors iguana, Iggy, came over to visit Sweet T while we were gone this weekend. We think Iggy's tail ripped the phone cord out of the wall or he thought the phone line was a worm and ate it. See Iggy has glaucoma and cirrhosis of the liver. Iggy loves to drink Coors Banquet beer and we think Iggy might have been a little tipsy. Sweet T wouldn't tell us what happened, he just kept looking from side to side. Oh well, its a crazy world over in the hunting cabin trailer park!

Back to last week picks. Sounds like Saint Jo should have won if they didn't have 2 turnovers inside their own 20. Maybe the Hill is over rated. Abbott sounds like the real deal from their score beating up on the defending state champs. Looks like Gordon will be on their way to another country song video after their win. Sweet T says Rankin will win the D1 State Championship and all of these other games are a waste of time.

GT, Sweet T cant wait for the Elton John mix tape you are bringing him and to meet your new warthog that you bought off the black market online. In the meantime, Sweet has been listening to George Michael and Queen 24/7. His 2 out of 3 picks has got him ready for this weeks picks. He still has Faith that Rankin will be playing We Are the Champions on Dec. 16.

Never played a six-man game of football in my life. Saw my first six-man game at State Championship in Abilene in 2012. Love High School football and had rather watch a good six-man then 11-man game. Wouldn’t bet the farm I know all six-man rules but SFA needs to see the stats for the SJ & UH game and I wish SJ would put theirs on Max prep. SJ fumbled twice inside inside their own 20. I think I’m right that UH fumbled three times. I think at least one time they had the ball inside SJ twenty. SJ has one kid that is very hard to Tackle. UH had about three. I don’t think either team on that field was overrated.

Take care of Sweet T and Iggy and I’m so glad that the UIL doesn’t listen to Sweet T and shut the season down and award the State Championship to Rankin.

Well my warthog just arrived and it looks like he has something wrong with his eyes. He cnt look at me straight on so he turns his head to look at me. I think I will name him Walter or Wally for short since I call this wall eyed. Dont trust the dark web folks.

Speaking of folks.....old folks home knows an awful lot about the teams on this thread, so I am thinking he is a homer. Sweet T said Rankin will win it all and I agree. IT was hard to watch the live stream of the calvert game being as I have slow internet like SFA, but from what I see they are the best team out there. Old Folks Home just sit back and drink your ensure and wait for applesauce night at the Nursing home.

Also, what is maxiprep? What does feminine care produces have to do with football....I dont know!

Stay Prickly!!!!!

Old Folks,
If you will go to digitalscoutfootball.com and search for Saint Jo Varsity, you can pull up the stats for that game. It will show you both teams stats broken down.

Thanks Sixman Dad. I had never been to that website. One of the big differences I saw was 4th down conversion. No need to worry about 3rd down because nobody punted. On 4th down, UH was 1 of 2 and SJ was 3 of 7. If my math is in the ballpark, SJ had more turnovers on loss of downs plus 3, and UH had 3 - 2 on fumbles or plus 1. 3 - 1 = 2 so there is two more chances for UH to score. This makes sense in my pea brain. UH had the big plays and SJ, with that awesome back, was pounding it. SJ had time of possession, first downs, and whatever else but UH would score quick with a couple of awesome backs and go on defense. It was a heck of a game and if they play again, I will be there.

Game Traveler, if you would stay off the porn sites and get your mind on football and off the 16 year old cheerleaders, you wouldn’t be worried about feminine products. I go to Maxprep, sixmanfootball, sixmania, Texas 1A fan, Dave Campbell, and anywhere else I can find, looking for info on these teams. As I said, I love High School football, especially six-man.

Thanks again Sixman Dad, Grainger, and all else involved. Good Luck Union Hill and Saint Jo. It’s a shame y’all are in the same region.
