Job Title: Secondary Composite Social Studies Teacher (17-18 School Year)
Level: High School & possibly Junior High
Core Subjects: U.S. History, Government, Economics, & possibly others (World History, World Geography, and/or 8th U.S. History)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certification for 8-12 Composite Social Studies
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Develop & implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations & differentiation in student learning styles.
3. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
4. Diagnose & evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely & consistent manner.
5. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning & appropriate for physical, social, & emotional development of students.
6. Collaborate effectively with department & grade level teachers.
7. Effectively implement district & campus policies.
8. Use technology to strengthen the teaching & learning process.
9. Be a positive role model for students, and support the mission of the school district.
10. Assistant Coach/possibly athletic director
Salary: Commiserate with Rule ISD pay scale and stipend as applicable.
