We are excited to announce that we are starting a new 6 man football program next year in Roxton ISD. Roxton is a great community located about 15 miles SW of Paris Texas. Interested candidates can view the specific job description at www.roxtonisd.org. We will eventually have it posted on the Region 8 web site as well as the Texas Association Coaches Site and at sixmanfootball.com. I can be reached at 903-346-3213 ext. 11. Thank you for helping us to get the word out about this wonderful opportunity!

He might be saying that it is hard to organize and compete in the Can-Am Bowl when you change jobs every year. That is just a guess though.

Not sure why anyone mentioned the can/am bowl on a job posting but if it's a dig at coach bear he does a great job with the can/am bowl. My son played for him last yr and we are both thankful for him doing such a great job. If it's about where he woks that's his, his family and the schools business not anyone else.

I believe that BE is thinking a little deeper than most of the board skimmers here. What some take as an insult is, I believe, actually a compliment to Coach Chesley for accepting the challenge every year of organizing and reorganizing a new team to travel a thousand miles to take on and defeat Canada's best.

Similar in my opinion to the challenge of starting up a new program from scratch.

I was referring to the challenges inherent in starting a football program anywhere and comparing them to the similar efforts required in getting together a team of diverse players (as in diff. systems) and getting them to Canada. Very tough and challenging. You have to love the struggle and have an abundant amount of ability and patience.
I meant no truculence whatsoever.

Was just my opinion of how difficult starting from scratch must be and based on the fact that building on an existing program is often more than we can accomplish. My hats off to anyone who accepts any of the three.

Can not imagine the work going in to a brand new program. It's tough enough, on all of us, to be the new guy at a program already in progress. I think we take for granted kids already knowing the basics of 6-man football, even something as trivial as the rules. Hats off to whomever accepts this tremendous opportunity.

I'm just impressed with the SAT word, "Truculence"...I feel smarter now. :)

I would tend to agree about how difficult starting a program from scratch is. I think Coach Satcher put it best, it is easy to over look things and take things for granted. Personally, full disclosure, I applied for the position and love the idea of starting up a program from its foundational level.

Honestly, I picked that up while watching my 5th grader's Spelling Bee last week. Amazement--like a cold slap on the face-- forced my curiosity to Google.... (:
