Rigdon/Richland Springs article

This article is not surprising about Coach Rigdon being stabbed in the back by Fowler, Burkhart and the RS school board. It was obvious that Fowler had to lead Coach Rigdon on long enough to get him trapped with needing a paycheck and Burkhart needing the Rigdon boys to be on the team. Richland Springs does not win state without the Rigdon boys and everyone knows that. Calvert would have been playing Motley County for state otherwise. The UIL needs to get involved in this mess. Murdock, who are going to be the NEW recruits for Richland Springs now?? Hire a janitor with four or five boys? Richland Springs is a sorry example of winning at all costs.

When you are a Head Coach, just won your 9th state championship, and are not nominated for Coach of the Year.... That has to tell you something.

No, actually, that's a 1000% false! I dare you to find one single instance where I said anything negative about anyone with the last name Rigdon, kid or adult. For the last time, I don't live in Richland Springs. In fact, I agreed Coach Rigdon was in a tough situation.

Rather, I told you to stop the personal attacks on Jerry and stand by that. While I'm not the biggest fan of this article, at least it came from a principal involved with Richland Springs last year. If Jerry or RS wants to sue for slander, then a judge can decide that. As far as I'm concerned, however, this situation is over!

I hope both Richland and Rigdon do well next year.
 
Why oh why hasn’t RS been investigated by UIL??? The recruiting is blatantly obvious and then there’s the other issue with how they treat their coaches. Not a school I’d be proud of! Win at all cost SMH!!

at every school I ever worked for.
My kids were glad to leave every one.
Sad.
 
What a hack-job. Amy McDaniel could move right on into reporting for the New York Times, or CNN. But of course there are always some gullibles who will swallow it “hook, line, and sinker”.
 
Hey Johnny I'm going to assume you didn't think it was a hack job by the standard times when the article about why JB left stanton was published.. or is position going to be consistent on both of those articles?

Amy Mcdaniel is a very good reporter who does a ton for the kids in the standard times coverage area, it also appears she reached out to RS and JB for comment (perhaps to defend themselves) and they wanted nothing to do with it.

Notice a pattern here? A quick google search reveals this and I’m sure there’s a lot more if you dig deeper. While I do think it was planned to bring Burkhart back at the last minute and don’t agree with how it was handled at all (and I’m from RS), Rigdon brought a lot of this in himself and appears to have a pattern in doing so. Some of the same quotes in the Angelo article were used in previous articles. And multiple lawsuits?? Things that make ya go hmmm.
Good luck to ME next year for hiring 2 Rigdons on the coaching staff. Can't wait to watch the fireworks from afar! Young Coach Rigdon is probably more mouthy than Pops!

* Jeez dude... are you butthurt enough? You are obviously an RS puppet. You try and smear a coach that stayed an entire year at RS and you cant even give him or his boys a thank you or credit. Proves your worth. Do everyone a favor and just stop talking. 99% of the coaches know what's going on there. It was exposed by Amy at San Angelo. You should be thanking her.
 
Why does Burkhart never address this???? He is so quick to say what makes his program so special and unique is that they put God first. If you dont put God first like he does you will never be successful.
As a Christian I find it very had to believe he and I believe the same thing....

I don't think what Richland Springs achieved would be called success. The Richland Springs superintendent, school board and Burkhart schemed to keep the Rigdon boys just for athletic purposes just to get that ninth state ring. The Rigdons were pawns in this pitiful scheme. How does that ring feel now?

BTW... Coach Rigdon was not fired or let go from Samnorwood, you might want to check up on that...
