Can it be,
Is the Richland Springs Reign FINALLY coming to an end?

Can the new incoming coach keep the win streak going?

I believe D-II will FINALLY crown a new state champion.

Good Luck Coach B on your new adventure.

Will be GREAT for sixman football if Coach Burkhart and Coach Reed are the two coaches/schools playing at Cowboy stadium for the 1st sixman game ever to be played there.

2013 Div. I state game.....
Battle on the Blue Star
Horns vs Hounds

Thanks for the support wonder dog. The answer to your question is NO they are not done nor will they ever be. God is the one who gets the glory. You see it takes more than just one coach to make it happen. The kids at RS will give you all of their heart. They do not want to lose at anything. The Coaches that have come through RS (Shawn Rogers, Harley Ethridge, Toni Dodson, Thomas Tipton, Michael Brand,Don Fowler and Myself) have put in tremendous amout of hours to get this done. What you put into it is what you will get out of it. It takes school board support, administration support, booster club, and most of all community support in what you are doing and suppoting the program and kids. Never count RS out. God opens and closes doors. God is always in the drivers seat, it is up to us whether we are his passengers or watching his tailights fade away!! Me I chose to be his passenger. It is a very hard thing to do when you love those kids and love people in this community that have been great to you and your family. On the other hand it is exciting to be starting a new adventure. The program I am stepping into is a town with rich tradition with hard working kids, and a very prideful community. I know how the Gordon teams have been in the past. It is a well respected program. I pray for the same success that there as I have had in RS. I will REPEAT AGAIN. It all boils down to Hard Work, school board support, admistration support, community support, and most of all how much the kids are willing to sacrifice their time. I have been blessed. Please remember my Family chose to be a passenger and that is it. RS will be fine. We look forward to many great things to come. Thank you and God Bless

You know, I'll believe the "Richland Springs Reign" is finally over when I see them tossing dirt on the grave. And I might stick around a few hours just to be sure a hand doesn't pop through the earth (wasn't that the scary scene in "Carrie" many years ago?).

Regardless of who is wearing Coyote gear on the sidelines, you got a bunch of kids who are used to winning and walk onto the field with a mindset that every game is a win... and an opponent walking on the field knowing they're playing a team that expects to win every night. Kinda like having a couple touchdown lead before you even kick off the ball.

Wonder Dog, why are messing with these players and families lives like this!!! This topic should be removed instantly, like the others in the past! How could you start such a bold face lies!

Northguy,

All I'm doing is complementing Coach Burkhart on his new job.
And asking will the reign of another state title be over for Richland Springs.

Yes Coach Burkhart did take the Gordon job..... NO RUMOR, NO LIE.....

I wonder if he left RS because he saw the cupboard was bare. No Hicks boys on the horizon. No Tyler Ethridge around to steal from Hermleigh. No Denim Reeves. Just the Freshman, Salinas and he's not enough to save the day. I guess the Gordon job looked pretty good from there.

At some point the Richland springs reign is going to come to an end, it's not like they're goin to win 25 straight state titles.... Is it goin to be over this year? Who knows....
What I do know is that the Strawn/Gordon rivalry just got A LOT more interesting.

More interesting?

2012
Gordon 36
Strawn 34

The game came down to the final play.

2011
Gordon 57
Strawn 50
It was anyone's game until the final whistle.

More interesting? Please, no. I hope it does not get more interesting, I am getting to be an old man and the above two games almost put me in the hospital each time, my ol ticker can't take much more.

Congratulations to Coach Burkhart, looking forward to a great season this year for Gordon.

Andy
