Rankings - Who does them?

I'm not a big fan of pre-season rankings, but I was just curious who did the six-man rankings? Obviously, it is someone more in touch with the public school arena than the private. They have Town East ranked 3rd in the state in Div II. Trust me, that is not even close.

This team is practically a new squad. They are green at QB. They are only returning 2/3 player(s) who started on both sides of the ball last year. Two of their starters played football for the first time last year. Half of the team has either never played before or this is their second season of playing. They have a lot of potential and COULD be pretty good by seasons end, but to rank them third at this point is seriously unfounded.

Your mileage may vary. Not all customers will get the preferred finance rate.

Okay, here (as far as I can tell) is more-or-less Granger's pre-season rankings formula and the fine print.

Well, I don't know, but it is very weighed to how you (and your opponents) did last year. Personnel changes a lot more in private schools than public schools (coaches, key players) and if you believe everything you read on these boards, a bunch of NCAA D-1 prospects are leaving UIL 5A public schools to play for private six-man teams.

Granger would be the first to admit that the private school rankings are pretty unreliable for the first couple weeks. Once folks have a couple games under their belt, things shake out.

And Robert Davis isn't the worst coach around in sixman. He knows enough of the game to make most of us look stupid.

Until then, be cool, brother.
